David & Dorothy McMillan

Being part of the Baptist  Union of Great Britain, we have always supported a mission partner through BMS World Mission.

Our current partners are Dorothy and David McMillan who come from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Dorothy’s career has been in education working as a primary school teacher, nursery principal and university lecturer. David’s main role has been as a Baptist pastor for 22 years, firstly in Newry, County Down, and then in Belfast. They have two daughters, two son-in-laws and two grandsons.

Prior to joining BMS World Mission, Dorothy was lecturing in Early Childhood Studies in Belfast while David was serving as Transition Officer for the International Baptist Theological Seminary (IBTS) and responsible for relocating it from Prague to Amsterdam.

On completing their training at the International Mission Centre in Birmingham, David and Dorothy moved to Amsterdam to work at the IBTS, supporting the leadership of the Centre and developing the Centre’s capacity in research, publications and wider ministry within the European Baptist Federation and beyond. They may also play a role in establishing a Centre for Just Peace-making.

You can keep up to date with their ministry by following their blog.
