Parent/Carer & Toddler Groups

Ladygrove Parent/Carer and Toddler Groups

Each Wednesday and Thursday during school term time between 9.30-11.00am we run sessions in the Ladygrove Community Hall. The groups give the opportunity for pre-school children to play together and develop their social skills but also provide a forum for parents and carers to seek and offer advice and practical support as well as ask for prayer.

Both groups have a similar structure:

Free Play & Crafts for the Children, Chat for the Adults

Refreshments for All

Tidy Up

However, there is a difference in the two groups.

The Thursday group has more of a Christian content. The songs will be action songs with Christian lyrics and, during the main church seasons (Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, etc) the craft may have a Christian theme.

The Wednesday Toddler Group, on the other hand is similar to any non-Church toddler group. The songs are nursery rhymes and the crafts will draw on themes such as nature, the weather, etc. However, we hope that the love of Christ is equally evident in both groups.

We ask for £2.50 per family to cover the cost of hiring the room, refreshments and craft materials.

As well as the regular sessions, we organise events once or twice a year, such as a summer outing to Beale Park near Reading, a Christmas meal together for the mums and female carers at a local restaurant and parties for the children.
