A Little about Us
If you live on the Ladygrove Estate in Didcot, Oxfordshire you may be surprised to learn that the Ladygrove Church has been worshipping here since 1993. We do not have a church building so there is no steeple or tower to indicate where we meet. On Sunday mornings you will find us at the Ladygrove Community Centre, but at other times of the week you wil find us meeting in homes, the pub, local cafes and, of course, serving the community in a variety of ways.
We were established by All Saints' Church of England Church and Didcot Baptist Church in what is known as a Local Ecumenical Partnership so our Sunday services and our understanding of how to be church draw from the richness of both of those denominations, as well as from the Estate on which most of us live.
We hope that you will find that we offer a warm welcome, lively modern worship in an informal setting with Bible-based teaching that is relevant to your life.
Being a mixture of Anglicans, Baptists and people from other church traditions has taught us the need to be accepting and tolerant of one another's views and expressions of faith. The one thing we can all be sure of is that "now, we see things in a glass, darkly" (1 Corinthians 13:12) - none of us has all the answers so we have lots to learn from each other's experiences of God.
Though we are part of the Church of England and Baptist Church, most of us are much happier simply to call ourselves Christians or followers of Christ.
You are very welcome to join us wherever you are on your faith journey and however you express it. Simply come as you are.
